Bachchan had been working in Calcutta for over two years when he decided to leave. He thought to move to Mumbai and pursue a career in the Bollywood industry. At the time, the Indian film industry was also growing, and there was a demand for young, skilled actors and Amitabh Bachchan was apt for it.
